A Small Story About Me
Born in the strange, estranged countryside of Northern Finland it’s no wonder I grew a little tilted.
There was hardly pop culture in that childhood and certainly our days were not filled with computer games, fashion or Instagram. The boredom was good for the brain: we had to create our own fun and games, and the forests provided an endless playground. But I guess I had enough of dullness back then, because I don’t remember feeling bored in years.
After first graduating as a journalist from Turku University of Applied Sciences, in 2020 I finally began to face my truth and started art studies with ceramic sculpture. A year later I was accepted to the Academy if Fine Arts Helsinki, and now I am where I belong.
I study in the Sculpture Department, and work mostly with casting methods, painting, tattooing and trash sculpture. I’m 32-years old, which seems ancient for someone only starting their career as an artist, but I have always been a later bloomer. Anyway, life expectancy has risen enough for me to catch up.
I have only scratched the surface of art making at this point, but consequently I am absolutely obsessed and in love with life.
Thank you for all the support.
